Hello! My name is Renaldo Adams. I'm a black male, 25 years of age,
born July 2nd 1980. I'm currently on Alabama's Death Row, and have
been for the last seven years, but I recently had my sentence
overturned, so I'll soon be starting a new journey in my life in general
population. This is my first time being locked up in any kind of
facility. I realize that making this transition will be very difficult and
there is always the fear of the unknown. And I know this is
something I can't do alone. It has been very hard these past years,
just being here, so i am seeking some real, true friends and family --
those who will travel this road with me, loving and supporting me.
This is very hard for me because I am leaving behind so many
people, some of my closest friends who have become my family over
these years. So with the joy of having my sentence overturned came
much sadness, too. I'm seeking support and friendship -- someone
who understands the complexities of friendship, but who is just as
determined as I am to obtain it and to hold onto it. Someone who is
honest, dependable, loyal, trustworthy, and understanding.
Understanding is the loneliness that surrounds me, consumes me
everyday. Someone that's supportive and can give words of
encouragement. Someone outgoing, open-minded. I'm seeking
someone passionate and good- hearted. Physical beauty doesn't
mean much to me, but inner beauty and intelligence I really
appreciate. Someone thats not afraid of being creative and loves to
have fun. I need someone that'll be dedicated, and wont abandon me
like so many other. Someone that will brighten my days, bringing
joy and happiness into my life. Someone who can open up a new
world for me, sharing their lives with me, introducing me possibly to
some new things, allowing me to live and enjoy my life with and
through them. I need someone attentive who will stand by my side as
I strive to obtain my freedom. Age, race and gender doesn't matter.
I would love to hear from anyone who is interested; just be
serious-minded is all I ask. Because this isn't a game, or just
something for you to pass time with. This is real. I am real!!
I guess I should convey to you my idea of friendship: a
relationship built on a solid foundation of honesty, trust,
unconditional love, total disclosure, openness, and unyielding
commitment. I believe that to have anything lasting you must have a
high level of trust and honesty. Also being able to openly talk with
one another, sharing your true thoughts and feelings without the
fear of being judged or embarrassed. Communication is everything!
It takes time, dedication, and a lot of patience, but I believe that it
can be achieved. Some of my interests are reading and writing,
collecting poetry and pictures, listening to music (everything from
rap to classic rock) basketball and lifting weights. I love to have fun,
smile and just enjoy life, even though it is not the best of
circumstances.
If any of you out there feel you can be the friend I need, please
